Keeladi Thamizhar Thaimadi – Oru Kalanduraiyadal
Dear All,
On 17th November 2019, GLTS organised a webinar and group discussion on the subject of “Keeladi Thamizhar Thaimadi”. Our key note speaker for this gathering was retired school head master Shri. V. Balasubramanian, who was instrumental to bring into light the importance of Keeladi site in the year 1979 by collecting coin of Chola king Rajaraja I, few beads and terracotta Figurines of 12th – 13th century AD.
The conference call commenced around 08.30 am on 17th Nov and lasted for about two hours, which was more than the actual scheduled time. GLTS members enthusiastically participated in the group discussion and showed keen interest in understanding more about the Keeladi findings and its importance to Tamil history, culture and language.
GLTS and its members wholeheartedly thanked and appreciated the guest speaker for his dedication and efforts in raising the awareness on Keeladi among the Tamil community all over the world. Session ended with a thank you note from the President, who inturn moderated the discussion.

கீழடி தமிழர்த் தாய்மடி – ஒரு கலந்துரையாடல்

நவம்பர் 17, 2019 அன்று, கிரேட்டர் லண்டன் தமிழ் சங்கம் (ஜி.எல்.டி.எஸ்) “கீழடி தமிழர்த் தாய்மடி” என்ற தலைப்பில் ஓய்வு பெற்ற பள்ளி தலைமை ஆசிரியர் திரு. வை. பாலசுப்பிரமணியம் அவர்களுடன் ஒரு வெபினார் மற்றும் குழு விவாதத்தை ஏற்பாடு செய்துயிருந்ததது.
திரு. வை. பாலசுப்பிரமணியம் அவர்கள் கி.பி 12-13 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டின் சோழ மன்னன் முதலாம் ராஜராஜாவின் நாணயம், சில மணிகள் மற்றும் டெரகோட்டா சிலைகளை சேகரித்து 1979 ஆம் ஆண்டில் கீழடி தளத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வெளிச்சத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவருவதற்கு கருவியாக இருந்தவர்.
நவம்பர் 17 ஆம் தேதி காலை 08.30 மணியளவில் கலந்துரையாடல் தொடங்கி சுமார் இரண்டு மணி நேரம் நடந்தது. இந்த கலந்துரையாடலில், ஜி.எல்.டி.எஸ் உறுப்பினர்கள் ஆர்வத்துடன் பங்கேற்று கீழடி கண்டுபிடிப்புகள், தமிழர் வரலாறு, கலாச்சாரம் மற்றும் மொழி முக்கியத்துவத்தை பற்றி மேலும் புரிந்து கொள்வதில் மிகுந்த ஆர்வம் காட்டினர்.
உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள தமிழ் சமூகத்தினரிடையே கீழடி குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை வளர்ப்பதில் திரு. வை. பாலசுப்பிரமணியம் அவர்களின் அர்ப்பணிப்பு மற்றும் முயற்சிகளுக்கு ஜி.எல்.டி.எஸ் மற்றும் அதன் உறுப்பினர்கள் முழு மனதுடன் நன்றி தெரிவித்தனர். சங்க ப்ரெசிடென்டின் நன்றி உரையுடன் கலந்துரையாடல் அமர்வு முடிந்தது.
